Aisling Bea

Aisling is a well-known Irish comedian who has been around for quite a while. Born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. She appeared with Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) more popularly known as Aisling Bea is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea was first able to make a name for herself as a stand-up comedian in 2011, following small parts that she acted on Irish and British TV dramas beginning in 2009. Following 2012, she was appearing in sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms and similar shows. In 2012, following her was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA), she started to appear frequently in panel programs. She's a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats since the year 2016 and is an extremely popular contestant on its sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The parents of her were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has an older sister named Sinead. In 2012, she became the second woman ever to win the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Her surname honors the memory of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh'Sullivan' was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. The father of her Brian was a veterinarian for horses who took his own life at the age of three. Bea was just three years old. She did not know what happened to him until she turned thirteen. Bea adopted the stage name Bea in honor of her father. She wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea was raised alongside her older sister Sinead with Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer and former professional racer. Her family were in love with racing meetings and horses. When she was a child, Bea worked as an assistant tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she was aware from an early age that she was not attracted to the race industry for a profession, but instead enjoyed performing.
